hey guys, are you ok? well.. do you know when will be available to us scwcd 1.5? 'cause when I got the programmer level 1.4.. five months later they launched in the market java programmer 5.0!!! so, i'm supposed to take scwcd 1.4 for now.. but i dont want take any upgrade exam at the momemnt.. so, i prefer to wait for scwcd 5.0 and so.. to take this exam.
This question has been asked many times before - try searching the forum. The word direct from Sun is that they're aren't planning an SCWCD 5.0, or at least not for the next few years. Personally, I can't see the point of creating an SCWCD 5 exam as the only major change in the Web tier in J2EE 5 is the addition of JavaServer Faces, which isn't really a suitable candidate for testing on an exam (it's just full of syntax).
Java SE 5.0 had some major new language features: generics, annotations, auto(un)boxing and enumerations to name a few... it makes sense to test these, but J2EE 5 adds no such new features - at least not in the Web tier.
So I think you'd be safe preparing for SCWCD 1.4 now, and if you're interested in J2EE 5 there are additional chapters in my new book (available very soon!) which cover all the non-Faces updates.
