Just passed SCWCD yesterday with score 86%. Thanks Bryan, Kathy and Bert for creating such wonderful book -- HFSJ.
I read HFSJ three times, practiced the samples in the books, did the mock test for every chapter, made notes. Only refer to the spec for the portion mentioned in the book when I have query on the questions. Refer to Core J2EE design pattern (second edition) when I was not clear about the particular design patterns.
Reviewed the whole book and did the final mock test on the day before actual test. I am surprise that I only got 57% for that test and got 86% later.
I did not take any other mock test and did not read any other book for SCWCD.
There is not problem if you don't have experience for Servlet and JSP. Don't worry if you don't quite understand all when you read HFSF at the first time. Re-read it again after that. [ May 31, 2006: Message edited by: Cai DongShan ]

Hi DongShan, Congrats!! Ur clarifying that -"So there is not problem if you don't have experience for Servlet and JSP." was really a relief, coz I dont have any experience. I hav started with Head First. But I am stuck 5th chapter, "Attributes and Listeners". I am finding it a bit difficult. As such am not able to answer the mock exam properly.I am plannnig to go ahead with the 6th chpater related to Sessions...and then once again revise the 1st 6 chapters. Please suggest me, should I proceed in the above manner or should I go ahead with the subsequent chapters and then after comleting the book agn..start off from the beginging.
Hey, COngrats once agn.....
thanks in advance, Swati.

Yes, Swati. That is what I tried to say. Keep going. But I need to remind you that JSP also use concepts in Servlet.
You should practice the sample if you don't have experience. This will help you to understand what it is.

Hi DongShan,
I am so glad that I had mailed you when I was at the start of my preparation for SCWCD. Your wise suggestion that- "That is what I tried to say. Keep going.", when I was stuck at the 5th chapter, really helped me a lot. If it was not for your suggestion, I wouldnt have got the courage to go ahead with the chapters.
Thanks to you once again
Warm regards, Swati.

Swati,
You are welcome. Congratulations to you again! I am very happy that my few words can help you. I hope SCWCD can help you on your job.

Thanks all for your kind comment.
Bert, it is very nice to get reply from you. Without your book, I could not pass SCWCD. Thanks. Hope to see more books come out from you, especially SCJWSD and SCEA. Do they become your 'possible' list?
