import javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.SimpleTagSupport;
^
ss/FTag.java:6: cannot find symbol

Make sure that jsp-api.jar is in your CLASSPATH

Thanks for the quick response. Would this file be kept in common/lib or somewhere else? Waiting for your reply.

It depends on the container. In Tomcat, it is in common/lib.
So don't forget to add jsp-api.jar (whereever it is) in your CLASSPATH when you compile.

I would like to (as I'm not at home) if this jar file would already be available in common/lib folder? I'm not able to find this file in Internet.

Sorry I made a mistake, so I repeat the words:
I would like to know(as I'm not at home) if this jar file would already be available in common/lib folder? I'm not able to find this file in Internet.
