Hello,
installed tomcat on machine..now how do we start the server...are there any variables to be set before starting it...could not get through...help appreciated.

You have to set environmental variabls as follows
set JAVA_HOME and give your jdk bin directory
set TOMCAT_HOME and give tomcat bin directory

this is how we do it right...

set JAVA_HOME=F:\j2sdk1.4.1
set TOMCAT_HOME=g:\tomcat

and then we start server by....startup.sh

it still dosen't work...it shows that...'startup.sh' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file......pls help

Write startup.bat instead and check if it runs.

still things doesn't work out...do we need to set the classpath...if yes how do we do that

i am unable to get through....how do i start laod the server and get things working....help appreciated
