In jsp we have page implicit variable of type object. I have never seen this object in action. What is it used for?

SCJP 1.4, SCWCD 1.4, SCBCD 1.5, TOGAF 9, Comptia Cloud+

The implicit object 'page' is of type Object. page is a reference to the JSP itself.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
