What does a J2EE application server have to do with scwcd ?

If you are looking for a free web container try tomcat

we have lots of options -

apache tomcat, caucho resin and many others
tomcat is commonly used, for learning purposes
its a WEB SERVER - it means it supports servelts jsp ( related to WCD syllabus )
APPLICATION SERVERS - support EJBs also

If you just need something to prepare for SCWCD then all you need is NebBeans with the bundled Tomcat Server.

It's just too easy.

Also, NetBeans is probably the best IDE for developing web apps IMO.

I use also Eclipse for other non-web projects.... but for web-apps, I have yet to find anything I like better than NetBeans.
