hfsj doesnt metnion whether the order
<servlet-name>
<servlet-class> is mandatory .
as per servlet 2.3 spec this order was mandatory
but in 2.4 this doesnt matter

also hfsj says " a jsp document must be enclosed in <jsp:root> elements"
this was mandatory in JSP1.2 , but no more in JSP2.0 !

do we expect to see such SPEC DEPENDENT exams on the exam !

I dont think that the problem is big enough for you to worry about it. The order of those elements will not be asked about in the exam( I think). Refer the JSP document question in the final mock exam in the head first book to verify your answer on the jsp document root element. It has a question on the root thing

Hi Niranjan,

The specifications used for the SCWCD haven't changed for the last several years. We will let everyone know when a new version of the exam is coming, but at this point there is no plan to upgrade the SCWCD exam.

hth,

Bert

hey bert,

so as far as the exam is concerned, which spec should i refer to ?
is it 2.3 or 2.4 ?

so as per what you say -

as far as the exam is concerned i should take it that -
"the <servlet-name> must come before <servlet-class>"
"the jsp document must be enclosed in a <jsp:root> element"

or what ?
please be clear
your reply is puzzling and not clear.
