c:out JSTL tag of the core libaray of general purpose

I dont find the explanation about thig tag. It would be great if any one of you explain about this tag.

I am sorry guys, i meant to say i dont find much about this tag in HF book, though it is listed one of General purpose in Core Library.

c ut is used for writing stuff to the output stream. See c :-o ut. JSP 2.0 supports the EL expression language natively, so you can just stick expessions straight into your JSPs like

for instance. Prior to JSP 2.0, c ut is very useful because it allows you to avoid resorting to scripting so you can put
in your JSP.

I think you have to got through JSTL Specs for all the tags.

From the Specs ...



Syntax Without a body
<c ut value=�value� [escapeXml=�{true|false}�] [default=�defaultValue�] />

With a body
<c ut value=�value� [escapeXml=�{true|false}�]>
default value
</c ut>

escapeXml -> Deterrmines whether characters <,>,&,�,� in the resulting string should be converted to their corresponding character entity codes. Default value is true.
