hi, i've installed tomcat 5.0.28 and copied all the directories and files in the tomcat/webapps directory(along with the WEB-INF, web.xml,classes etc.) but the server cannot even find a static html file. it looks like there are some other things to be done. can somebody please help me. i've successfully deployed webapps in sun applicationserver 8

Is the application deployed ? Check using the tomcat console

here is the error message shown in tomcat admin console when i clicked on my webapp(yes it appears there)


HTTP Status 500 - Error retrieving attribute debug

type Status report

message Error retrieving attribute debug

description The server encountered an internal error (Error retrieving attribute debug) that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

i would suggest checking your web.xml file for errors

There should be a more elaborate error message in the log file.
