Multiple Servlet Objects

If we define multiple <servlet> elements of same SERVLET in web.xml, then web contianer will create multiple Servlet Objects. Right?

This may be useful for example you may want one instance to connect to one database and second instance to connect to another database...

hi yes you are right one first point

but i dont agree on the fact that you are thinking of making two instances of one servlet merely to connect to two different databases .

Database connection should be an plain old Java object.

yes....keeping in mind the design patterns the database connection should be done in a model and not in a controller.. !
