Finally Cleared the Exam With 89%

Hi Folks,

I'd initially booked my exam on 9th April 2007 but due to my impatient nature i preponed it to 2nd April 2007. On 2nd when i reached the center to appear for the exam , all the systems were down so had to reschedule it to 4th April 2007. Was disappointed initially becaue i went with the complete preparation on 2nd April with my head fully loaded with all the concepts.

I'm really happy after clearing the exam today with 89% it very closely matches to the Head First (68%+20%) strategy. I was a regular visitor of this forum & has helped me to understand the subjet matter in much more detail . I've indeed learned a lot from the experiences of the people who have cleared the exam.

The Head First was the only book i referred to & read it twice, once with a slow pace & the second time going over important concepts to remember for the exam. At the end just before the exam i referred Fredric's Notes for the revision & they proved good as well since in short time you can cover all the Exam topics.

I bought the book on 4th March 2007 & appeared for the exam today. I'd prior knowledge of J2EE & have worked on it for almost 4 years but for last 2 years i've not been coding enough in J2EE so the new concepts like EL etc were new to me. Also, i'd never done any Custom tag development plus never used Filters before. The security aspect was bit new to me. But i think in my case one month preparation was enough to appear for the exam with bit of a practice on weblogic9.1. I've been Fan of Weblogic since i have used it for all my J2EE projects (6.1, 7.0, 8.1) etc. The latest version of weblogic seems to be very cool & am happy that i taken up SCWCD exam which helped me look at the new version of weblogic.

1.Thanks to my Wife & 2 kids who let me prepare for the exam.
2.Thanks to the team of Head First , pls. keep up the good work. May be i might buy the SCBCD exam book.
3.Thanks to all the folks who have contributed their notes, tips etc on this website which certainly helps in the final preparation.
4.Thanks to Enthuware team who provided me with lots of questions to go thru which has certainly helped my thought process to workout correct answers. I was getting consistently 84%-90% on the Enthuware mock exams & on the last exam i got 90% which is very close to what i got in the final exam.

Thanks & Regards
