Hi,

I learnt Java in a programming subject
from a formal College.
The thing I learnt is ranging from the basic
to OO programming about Java.

Then I read some Java books for SCJP and took the exam.
I passed the SCJP 1.4 a few months ago.

I want to going ahead with Java programming(related to internet/Web)
in self-learning mode, and taking the exam that
is higher than SCJP in level.

Should I start from the SCWCD, JSP and Servlets ?

Please tell me a guide which one of area
about Java(internet/Web usage) should I learn first.

Thanks.

(I do not know any kind of web programming !
I know some C language that seems not related to my aims.)

Then SCWCD is good for you. Head First Servlets and JSP is the most used book by ranchers. You can find more about SCWCD at the following links :

Personally I'd say that the Head First Servlets & JSP book is both overrated and, sometimes, diffuse. It is a pity that I cannot point you to a better book, though, since this is the only one I have read and I do not intend to spend more money on another SCWCD book.
If I were to do it over again, I would settle for the description of the exam contents, as given by Sun, the specification documentation (JSP, JSTL and Servlet specification documents - all free) and the resources available on internet.
Another advice from me would also be to write a lot of code, which is the best way to learn coding!

If you are a beginner in servlets/jsp's, you can start with Head First Servlets and JSP's. Later you might try David Bridgewater's book which will furthur bolster your concepts and get you prepared for the SCWCD exam. There are a lot of free online mocks available like www.j2eecertificate.com www.javabeat.net www.jdiscuss.com www.javalobby.com
