Hi all,

I am doing EL practise.. I want to enable EL for all my JSPs for which,
I did the following configuration in Deployment Descriptor..

<jsp-config>
<jsp-property-group>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
<scripting-invalid>false</scripting-invalid>
<el-ignored>false</el-ignored>
</jsp-property-group>
</jsp-config>

But it is not working..

I need to explicitly put the <%@ page isELIgnored="false" %> in each JSP..

Why So..?

Is anything wrong with the configuration..

Hi,

EL is enabled by default. Its not necessary configure it.

The default mode for JSP pages in a Web Application delivered using a
web.xml using the Servlet 2.4 format is to evaluate EL expressions; this
automatically provides the default that most applications want.

JSP 2.0 Spec.

It's enabled by default if you use version 2.4. Check your web.xml, and make sure it looks like the following :

Thanks Leonardo & Satou,

I made the change in <web-app> tag and it worked for all JSPs..

Then again I disabled the ELs from web.xml by setting the <el-ignored> to true and ELs didn't worked..

Thanks..
