I gave the SCWCD 1.4 exam yesterday after 3 weeks of preparation and got through with 94%...
My Success strategy is as follows:
I went through HFSJ, honouring all sharpen your pencils and practice exercises & followed peabody design pattern notes (It helps for last minute review though HFSJ has it all)... The success secret is to realise all the concepts and practice them by coding extensively....
I was not starting from scratch. I had about 15% knowledge on Servlets and JSP's before I sat to study for the exam.
I scored 70% in the HFSJ mock so dont lose heart if you score less in the HFSJ mock.. It is very difficult compared to the actual exam.
I also practised a few mocks available at Jdiscuss.com... I devoted around 3 hours on weekdays and around 5-6 hours on weekends... hope this gives an idea for those who are planning to give the SCWCD...
All the Best for all the takers... And Thanks to Bryan, Kathy and Bert for the wonderful book....
--------------------------------------------------------------------- hope this gives an idea for those who are planning to give the SCWCD... ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Devi, Can you tell me your HFSJ book version?I am planning to buy this thru internet. How I can find out this book is for JSP2.0 and for exam 310-081?Thank You.
And dont forget to get a copy of the errata too...(You can download it from the Java Ranch)
Friends,
I forgot to mention one more important tutorial to go through... It is on dynamic attributes and is not covered in the book. I got one question on dynamic attributes in the exam...
Nice to hear that this post helped a number of ppl!!

Brilliant perfomance I have a doubt.... Is it really important to cover all the topics really well in SCWCD1.4??? It seems like I am lazy in that... Any Tips or Suggetions from you regarding that....

Hi Anjani, Please tell us about the stimulators that you purchased and whether they were effective? Please also tell us about the book that you purchased and read for SCWCD. It would be of great help to the ranchers who are going to take up the exam. Thanks, Padma priya N.G.
