Guys,

Do a .tag file need a TLD?

I think I got this. A .tag file needs a TLD if it is deployed in a jar, but if it's put directly into the web-app inside the WEB-INF directory, it doesn't need one.

Almost,

If you put them inside the directory WEB-INF/tags or a subdirectory then you don't need a tld.

that TLD should be in META-INF inside the jar that is inside WEB-INF/lib
use uri attribute in the taglib directive instead of tagdir attribute

Hi Jothi,

The syntax in tld file which will be under META-INF of jar file will be like this

<tag-file>
<name>Header</name>
<path>/META-INF/tags/Header.tag</path>
</tag-file>

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
