In Chapter 7 from HFJS, in the Question Answer sessions, they have used the word "Template Text" in some of the questions. I am unable to understand what does template text mean ?

Is it something like, html content or static content is called template text ?

Its any HTML or XML (or indeed any type
of content at all) that you care to include in your JSP page. Template text is sent
unchanged to response output. This is not so with scripting elements: There are
several different sorts, and the JSP container works hard to turn these dynamic
elements into something elseusually a coherent string of HTML or XML.
Together with the template text, this completes the page response.

to put it in other way.. "template text is something that goes to the response unchanged". would that be fine ?

Hi people

James, nice definition.
Prasad, here is an example of a template text.

The "Hallo :" is the template text.

I had the same problem with you, I solve it by reading more than book.
That was not the first place where I need an extra book to solve the chapter questions.

Regards,
M

Hi Mihai,
The "Hallo :" is the template text.

I think
<html>
<body>
Hallo :request.getParamter("xxx");
</body>
</html>

whole page is the template text in the example above....
Directly send back to the Browser and brower will proceess it
