Cleared SCWCD 5 exam recently. I followed the following for my prep:

1. HFJS book: highly recommended
2. ucertify practice exam: not recommended, too many mistakes, questions are not so strong
3. SUN e-practice tests: will recommend, however the price is somewhat steep considering they only provide only 2 practice tests.
4. JSP , servlet official specs: skimmed thru those

I did find a few questions on advaned topics in the exam which I didn't expect or find in any of the above study material, especially related to JSTL , custom tags and jsp directives so I'll recommend people go a bit beyond what is provided in these books.

Best of luck,

Rahul

Comgrats Rohit!! That is a great score especially considering you wrote SCWCD 5

Could you please let us know what topics should we concentrate on, to tackle the new SCWCD5 questions?

Is the exam considering EL as a new specification, not under JSP anymore? Did you find tricky questions related to that?

Thanks,
Meera

Also, Rahul: Did you see any questions on JSF?
Thanks

Yes, EL is covered well, in fact my exam started with an EL question... All topics as described in the syllabus of SCWCD 4 are covered in SCWCD 5, also I believe the level of difficulty is somewhat higher than the mock exams etc I used for SCWCD 4.

Hope this helps,
Rahul

The ScwcdFaq and nearly half of the active threads all explain that books written for 1.4 are completely valid for the 5.0 exam because the 5.0 exam didn't introduce any new topics.
