Voucher CX-310-081

I bought the exam voucher for Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 1.4 (CX-310-081)
and it expires this october. I was thinking of taking the exam some time in june. But the sun website has mentioned this

"These exams were discontinued February 29, 2008. If you hold an exam voucher for any of the mentioned certification exams, you have through April 30, 2008 to take the exam at an authorized Prometric worldwide testing center."

Does that mean my voucher will expire after April 30? Can I take 1.5 exam in june using the same voucher. I did not get any notification from sun regarding this. Can any one answer my question please

Yes.

No. You must use the 1.4 voucher until the end of April.

Please let me clear .I am not sure.So please tell me Am i right or wrong?I think it is not mentioned in voucher that it is for particular exam i.e. only for 310-81 or any other.
Voucher only mentioned that you can give any exam of 310 series i.e 310-xx
It is our choice to take any exam if we are eligible for that.

I'm in the same situation. I contacted Sun and they told me I could take the scwcd 5 instead. I'm sure there are many people in similar situation - it would be greatly unfair to have them all rushed to take the exam before April 30 as that's not what they've advertised when the voucher was sold.

Today I cleared SCWCD 1.4 exam.
As you know that objective of both scwcd 1.4 and scwcd 5 are same.
The only differnce is the type of question :
SCWCD 1.4 : Information based
SCWCD 5 : Performance based ie more analytical questions
Since, I took the voucher before 29th feb-08, i could write the exam before april and so on 17th March-08. I prefered SCWCD 1.4,
But there are few unexpected stuff came across ::
1> Total number of questions : 80
2> Total time : 2 hrs 55 min
3> There were few questions based on <welcome-file-list>, EJB stuff etc...
So, in my view SCWCD 1.4 had most of the questions as analytical...
Please feel free to ask any doubt, as I wrote exam recently , everything is in cache... Get before going into DISK :-)

what was the passing marks for this exam

I called prometrics now and they told me that I can take 1.5 exam using the same voucher that I have purchased for 1.4 exam. I think this is fair

what i know is... you can take any exam any version as long as it has the same price as the voucher you bought.
you just have to make sure that you choose the correct exam code when you schedule for the exam.
