Hi Ranchers,
As i am writing a simple tag handler class with following declarations :

package foo;

import javax.servlet.jsp.JspException;
import javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.SimpleTagSupport;
import java.io.IOException;

but i am getting compilation error that packages javax.servlet.jsp.tagext as well as javax.servlet.jsp do not exit.

I don't know why it is not able to find those packages. Please suggest what should i do to solve this problem???

With thanks in advance

Thanks & Regards,
Prabhat

Do you have those classes in your classpath? They might be in jar file called "jsp-api.jar" or similar.

Yes, i have set the CLASSPATH pointing to

C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\common\lib\servlet-api.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_04\bin;C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0\common\lib\jsp-api.jar;.;

but getting the same error. Please suggest where is the problem?

thanks & Regards,

Thanks Ulf,
I had just forgot to restart the system after changing the classpath. Now ,it is working fine.
