In my JSP I am doing like this

Then I am getting the following error
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application

To use core JSTL library Am I supposed to do anything before doing the above???

Yes, you are supposed to put some JAR files in your WEB-INF/lib directory. Check this (JSTL 1.1).

Thanks Christophe Verre.
