This week's book giveaways are in the iOS and Features new in Java 8 forums. We're giving away four copies each of Barcodes with iOS: Bringing together the digital and physical worlds and Core Java for the Impatient and have the authors on-line! See this thread and this one for details.
Prepared for 2 months. I have worked on struts framework before but newbie to most of the stuff in the exam. Read around 20 pages every day after work. read 40 to 50 pages if i had more time. Referred only HFSJ book (first edition), little bit servlet spec, jstl spec, jsp spec. Read the book twice, took notes, worked out all questions at the end of each chapter. Also bought ePractice exam from Sun Site (2 x 60 questions). The complexity of ePractice exam was similar to the real exam. I scored 95% with ePractice exams.
Yesterday attended the final mock exam from HFSJ book (second edition), got only 43 questions correct out of 69, had no confidence, bit nervous, but i had retake exam offer, so decided to attend. But I understood where i made mistakes in the mock exam. It helped me a lot. In the real exam i got 61 correct out of 69. So comparatively it was easier than HFSJ mock exam.
Got low % in Design patterns (Marc you owe me a beer :-) just kidding) & JSP standard actions. I should have worked out more on these 2 topics.
I learned a lot by preparing for this exam. I'm so happy now.
At this happy moment, i like to thank authors of HFSJ & my wife who was very patient with me & took care of other things while i was concentrating for the exam.
