What would be handy is if the message you were replying to would be displayed with the textbox that you type the text into.
This would be convient for cut and paste purpose.
Thanks for a great reference site.

When you reply to a message, look further down on the page, below the "Add Reply" button. You've got a view of the whole previous page. Is that what you mean?

Or.... use the 'reply with quote' button, which is in the icon bar of each post. it's the open quote and close quote symbol, right beside the 'edit' icon.

Yes it works... and it is smart enough not to include any quotes from the original message. Now that is a problem if the original messge has multiple quotes. My experience is that it only takes the messege after the last last

Jim, I've been at JavaRanch for months and didn't know that was there!
Another option, of course, is to open the Post Reply link in a new window.
