well if we look here page is directive, but marcus green notes say that
isELIgnored is also a directive? acc. to me it should be a attribute.

it is an attribute... good practise is configure in web.xml rather than page directive

Here "page" is directive having "isELIgnored" as an attribute.

Points to rember for the exam regarding <scripting-invalid> and <el-ignored> are:

1) <scripting-invalid>true</scripting-invalid> causes translation error(If jsp includes scripting elements)..
2) <el-ignored>true</el-ignored> wont cause any translation error but ignores the EL elements.

I always forget these rules so i am making post so that i can remember..If you have no problem in remembering ignore this.
