This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
For work purposes I really need to get an understanding of servlets and JSPs. I already have a good understanding of Java SE from college. I would like to know if it is possible to do the SCWCD without taking the SCJP? I do intent doing SCJP early net year.

Of course it's possible to study for it! You just can't formally take the exam. But who said you can't learn loads about Java Web development without sitting a multiple-choice test? If it makes sense for you to study both SCJP and SCWCD in parallel, then why not do it?!
