My wife and I are scheduled for the 24th. (Hers pending feeling ready - mine can't move since I'm going to JavaOne and Heaven only knows when I'll have time after I get back.)
It means that if you have not registered for SCJA beta exam before, you are no longer be able to take this beta exam.

In other words, you can't take this beta test even if you pay the bill yourself.

I think so, unless SUN has decided to accept more candidates.

Hey
It feels great to see that there are a huge amount of aspirants preparing for SCJA.
Let's now get into doubt raising and solving mode.
I am in need of some stuff/java code which will help me understand how association, composition, aggregation, multiplicity is mapped in java classes. Pls let me know of any such url, book .....
Thanks

How could you register when people say that the registration is closed? From which country did you register and on what date exactly? [ June 15, 2005: Message edited by: Mallesham Karnati ]

I believe it could be because he was part of the blueprint survey a number of months ago, and you get a free voucher for the beta exam for participating. Yes that is done and closed too. But there was an email sent to those who participated in the survey but hadn't signed up for the Beta. They were giving them one last chance to register.
One of my students tried to register but he told that he couldn't find out the way to register for SCJA following the link - http://www.sun.com/training/certification/java/associate_beta.xml and www.2test.com. He tells that there is no SCJA in the list of exams for Sun MicroSystems. How did you register online for the beta?

Sent couple emails to a person who coordinated this exam and requested to partcipate. Participated the survey waited couple months then didn't visit Java Ranch for awhile and here .. registration closed. Shouldn't I get a notification when the registration begins through email ?

If you had taken the blueprint survey, you still have a chance to take the exam. You should receive an email from SUNBeta. Reply the email, and the cooridinator will help you register for the exam.

Nick,
Thanks for the response. I do not need this exam but sincerely in wanting to contribute to the beta exam. I guess I am not interested on it anymore as I have lost the excitement of taking this exam after waiting for awhile with no response from the survey.

Basically, the survey is independent of the beta exam. As we discussed in another post, it is not the responsibility for SUN to notice candidates to take the exam, but the candidates to dig out the exam details.
Just like the university will not send us notice for exam timetables and venues, but we have to check the info out by ourselves.
So, might be next time, we have to track with SUN's website more closely.
