Should of taken the exam today but was denied....

I'm still a bit in shock over this as I'm posting from the Chicago Apple store (30inch HD cinema screens are very nice FYI

) but this morning I was told that the center I scheduled my exam for has not had the server up and running to administer for apparently 3 weeks. That includes ALL IT certification exams.

I showed up a half hour early like my confirmation email said and was informed immediately and was given a listing of two other near by testing centers. Apparently Prometric hasn't been notifying anyone of this occurence and I never should of been allowed to register to take my exam at that location. That sounded a bit weird to me since it was a listed option on the 2nd when I registered.

Problems:

Was there an attempt to notify me of the server being down at the testing center? From what I can tell there wasn't. I haven't checked my email in over 2 weeks because I was studying so if I had gotten an email I would of swallowed the bitter pill and moved on...but there was no notification. I also wasn't given a phone call either as I haven't recieved any messages.

Is it possible to reschedule? The woman the first center offered not much in the way of alternatives so I attempted to just show up at one of the other testing centers to see if I could be moved. This was a boon as while I wasn't able to sit today I did get the information needed to move forward on Monday. It was the opinion of the man at that testing center (Microtrain) that if I was given a confirmation I should be allowed to reschedule. Thankfully I chose to sit early in the beta.

Can I reschedule? Possibly. The man at the Microtrain center was 99.9% sure I could. However this is counter to the 2 business days notice for a refund (this is a free exam...no refund needed) and the 1 business day notice for a cancellation or rescheduling of an exam. I'm hoping that my notification the day of the exam will be in my favor this Monday when I attempt to reschedule but bearing in mind that the beta sign up was closed without notice of or of a cap I'm not getting my hopes up.

But the day is not lost...on the walk over I saw some basketball player in a hotel lobby and ran into Ogonna Nnamani (USA National Olympic Volleyball team) at Nike Town. And I get to post on this lovely 30inch HD Display. I want one.

In my last beta exam, the testing center changed its address at the Prometric website sometime later after the confirmation. No notification from Prometric or testing center.

Fortunately for me, I happened to notice the change of address at the Prometric website before the exam. As the new location was a bit far for me, I rescheduled to other center. For live exam, this shouldn't be a big problem since there is no deadline. However, for beta exam, that would be a different story, well, for those who take it on the day of exam deadline.

Even I came across such carelessness in India. I went to prometric center in delhi on 3 June (i.e. Just after beta was announced)for registration for Beta.
Called them after 1-2 days for confirmation for same and was given tones of assurance.

I called them again after 10 days for registaion no. and was told that sun has denied my request. After probing a lot with varous hierarchies I came to know that they didn't forwarded my request to SUN.

I know this forum has seen firm oppose on cribbings/complains for SCJA, but I just wanted to bring such incident to light. Hope SUN can do something to stop such incidents.
