I was at first sceptical, but the exam is not so ridiculous an idea. The J2SE part of it is much easier than the SCJP but not so easy, it does demand a reasonable level of understanding. And it is the only exam that covers wide areas of J2EE, J2ME and J2SE. All these questions are at a very high level off course, but demand a solid high level non coding understanding of the relevant technology. I will be extremely surprised if I don't pass, but if the pass rate is pushed to a very high level by bad behaving Java certified people like myself, it is possible to imagine failing. I thought the JMS questions were far from trivial, and there are some fine questions about the differences between Swing and AWT. I thought quite a few of the high level questions had a few ambiguous answers and I wrote a few comments on those questions. Have a good overview of the technology, but you don't need to code in any J2EE or J2ME stuff. Good luck everyone.
