i dont know what else? why so many ids are there?

Thanks in Advance.

i agree, therre are too many id's

certmanager have Candidate ID: & Registration Number for registration
integral7.com have Candidate ID & PROMETRIC ID:

someone said that the candidate id for certmanager is the prometric id.. but i dont think so.(but i don't have access to certmanager yet!)
then there is the Registration Number which aparently is called Confirmation Number at prometric.

Then there is the test center id.. my reciept said Site Name/Code: "SUPERUSERS A/S - DK9"
.. so im guessing that was my test center id, and i entered that several time with other combinations of registration number and date. But after some investigation i find out that its only DK9 thats the id.(finnally got access to integral7)

It's easy to get confused about that... some get access others don't to the certmanager, why? imho the systems integrate verry poorly, it should be possible to make this easier with some single sign on.

The Prometric ID is the key ID for all websites related to prometric. All others are used internally by different vendors, which you don't have to border with.

In real life, there are lots of IDs that refering to the same person, but they never want to combine them into one. Credit card is a good example, the same person can have many cards for different banks, but you will never ask for combining all numbers into one.

Apparently, am spending more time to know my score than the time spent for exam preparation. I have given up, and just waiting for certification kit to know the score!

But, of course, authentication is required for security & to identify candidates.

May be, SUN could provide a SSN (Sun Security Number) to identify candidates in all applications/system they have!

As I said, it is a waste of time because only a few people can know their score before they received the score report, and I never can get my score from the Cert. Manager (Assignment) before I receive the score report.

Nick,
It is not the question of waiting for result. We are trying to make use of the system where we can get to know the use of the system.

The base of the system is I7 database, which does not provide you any score.

There is an OLD certificate manager, prior to I7 database, which is now mainly used for Assignemnts (SCJD and SCEA). It contains scores for every certificate, but SUN did not promise that the score will be up to date, except SCJD and SCEA. Thus, some can see the score of SCJA there, but some do not.

For each of the system, your PROMETRIC record will be used to identify yourself. So, you just have to know for the Prometric ID, and all other IDs can be ignored as they are usually used internally. For example, student ID is for those who join SUN's training. Registration ID is for those who registered for SUN's events (courses/certs/exams), and confirmation ID is the one generated when you confirmed for an exam.

Actually, you find that the key is Prometric ID. And whenever you register an exam via phone, they just ask for Prometric ID, because Prometric will NOT know the IDs used by SUN, IBM, Oracle, etc. All IDs by those vendors are different.

Nick, Thanks for explanation.
Is i7lp and cert manager are two difference data bases used by Sun?
Even if i type certmanager.com in my URL, it always redirect me to i7lp.intergral7.com. why is it so?
You mean to say that i can never see my other scores in sun database apart from scea and scjd? I wrote scjp on july 11th. But so far, i couldnt see my score in sun database? If I lost the report given by Prometric, will I loose all my records except that I have passed scjp?
Please clarify me, if I am wrong. Thanks again Nick, for your good explanation. I am trying to understand the system used by SUN.

As said, I7 database is the core DB for SUN certification. Only SCJD and SCEA will use the old cert manager. Thus, if you are not doing with SCJD and SCEA, you dont have to border with it.

But, why some people wanna login the old system is because it contains the score. But as I said, I never get my score there before I received the score report (although some people said their scores are there, I dont have still).

I7 database will NOT contain any scores, even the score is there, what could we do if we lose the report? The report will NOT be reprinted, so, what you have is the certificate. I7 database shows your certified status, so, dont worried on the lost of records.

Nick,
Its so nice of you to give such a wonderful explanation.
By the way, How do I know if sun is conducting some beta exams? I am not aware of of scjp5.0 beta exam was held? Is there any way to come to know these to our personal mail?

I gave SCJA beta exam, I requested SunCert to create account at i7lp
and they did. Now I am giving SCJP exam so please tell me which IDs
required I mean what IDs I should use or give to prometric while registration, so that my exam details reflect in my account at i7lp.

Prometric person told me that he will register me on same day of exam so I have to carry all IDs along with me.

I7 database has already stated the Prometric ID, and as said, Prometric ID is the KEY ID, which you MUST use it even for exams from different vendors.

So, please make sure that you give the same Prometric ID always.

Nick but the problem is in FAQ at i7 this is mentioned

What are the Candidate ID and Internal ID? When should I use them?
Candidate ID is used to register for Prometric Exams and for initial (default) login for CertTracker. The Internal ID is for

Now what you say does make sense and I will follow your advice also I will ask prometric person while registration.

Bye.
