I have seen several old posting refer people to other the yahoo groups. Why send them someplace else instead of making this group more active? Sure I just joined this site so I may not know what I am talking about but I thought I would ask. I just started studying for the SCJA. I just got moved to a new department to fill a SCM role on a Java Development project. My Java is very rusty and hasnt been used in couple of years so I need to get it back up to speed for defect fixing. Sure the SCJA may be more general than the SCJP which I plan to get to but why not start at the beginning because on leads into the other.
The question I have is about the terms on the objectives. Again and again there is mention of high level understanding of this and high level understanding of that. For those who have taken the exam how in depth should I go in those areas.
Are any free mock exams available to help determine areas that need more studying on.
Oh and the UML guide from Head First linked by this site is a wonderful resouce for preparing for that objective.
I think most folks are just trying to be helpful - there are other study groups out there and sometimes it helps to have other viewpoints than those of folks who frequent here. Different audiences and all.
I do not recall - offhand - any mocks, but the exam is fairly new and still gaining notice, so if I hear anything, I'll make sure to come back and update with some resources.
