Dear all,

I have just started preparing for the SCJA exam. Lacking a study guide,
I picked up a lot of various material based on the tips I found in this
group and the Yahoo one. Although I didn't trust the omnipresent Steve William, I downloaded the EPlanetLabs SCJA Solution Guide. The $ 29 I thus spent were a total waste of money: the guide is a copy-paste collection of things that somehow, somewhere might be connected with Java. My warm advice: DON'T buy this crap.

Cheers...Gert.

Thanks for that, I have been wondering if it was any good. If you happen to come across anything that is worth the time and/or money let me know. Like you I am having a difficult time trying to find good material to study.

I agree with the above review of EPlanet's SCJA solution guide. Unfortunately, I didn't see it in time, so I'm stuck with something that's overkill, got terrible grammer, and is barely useable. Their "...not responsible..." disclamer on every page indicates they probably knew customers would be ticked. Stay far, far away from EPlanet!

anyway never and ever try to buy this tutorial. I cannot say book because the tutorial is one of the best copy-paste style document creation

ahh there is a terrible disappointing header in all pages as:

responsible to meet highest quality of any one's high expectations. You
purchased this eBook with your own risk and with your own interest, so we
are not responsible for any of your dissatisfaction or concerns. Thanks
for your purchase. Our Team Always Wishes Your Success in This
Certification Exam, Best of Luck.

I too got was dissapointed by this site. I dealt with Steve William who was quick to respond to my email. At first he was hesitant to refund me and supply me with a telephone contact number. He proposes that his business runs in South Africa but wont provide a contact number.

After I escalated the issue to PayPal, I was refunded as Steve William felt that he wanted to keep his business name intact. I can respect that and am just happy that I got my money back.

Wow... They're apparently not very confident in their own product -- and not interested in customer satisfaction.

A word of caution for all SCDJWS aspirants:
I bought SCDJWS study guide from http://www.eplanetlabs.com/ for $29. When I got the material, it was a crude copy paste from several links posted here. Particularly it was unformatted copy paste from http://java.boot.by/wsd-guide/
In fact they copy pasted all the material at http://java.boot.by, converted to PDF and selling them.

I contacted the author Mikalai Zaikin but he is not interested to pursue the site owner to stop making profits out of someone else's effort.
Please do not buy anything from http://www.eplanetlabs.com . If you search in this forum you will get links to all the material there.

I actually like going through the Amazon reviews for all of the ePlanet labs guides. Some people are very colorful in thier dislike of the material.

Hi all.

I bought this material too. It was totally incomprehensible. It said if you read this you will pass the exam. I have never seen anything so poorly put together. I think the first part was on Reagans early years and the rest on Herb Tarlic's suit with some irrelevant java stuff pasted into it. Terrible , terrible stuff.

The website looks authentic and comprehensive. That was enough for stupid me to buy the Associate material. I could not make any sence of it what-so-ever. The thing that I noticed most was that it has no format. No start, no beginning and no end. I am not saying that all the stuff they do is a rip off because I do not know, or ever want to find out. The only level of knowledge you get from this material is the wisdom to be careful.

Regards.

Steve.
