I wanted a java certification and was confused on whether to take up SCJP or SCJA. Then when i went through SCJP 1.5 exam objectives i found it to be very tough. So i decided to go for SCJA and even started preparing for it. Now i hear some people saying SCJA is not worth writing.
Ive gone through the exam objectives of SCJP 1.4 now,and i feel that its lot easier than SCJP 1.5.
Can anyone please suggest me on whether i should go for SCJA or SCJP 1.4. Does SCJP 1.4 cert. has any value now?.
One more reason for me looking at SCJP 1.4 is that i dont find any books for SCJA. Yes, ive seen many people using CAMEROON sirs books, but problem is that i cant afford them. Too expensive for me(some 54$).I find many books available for SCJP.
Thank you, Aravind.

I suggest you take SCJP. I never took SCJA (well, I guess Sun had not released SCJA on 2005). SCJP will helps you gain basic skill required for Java Programmers, but I don't know about SCJA

I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
