The most current is "The Sun Certified Developer for the Java[tm] 2 Platform" found on http://suned.sun.com/usa/cert_test.html
Where is the best place to start to prepare?
(Yes, I am a SCJP for Java 2)

It sounds mighty grueling and it seems that not many people are concerned about it.
So the bang for the buck seems low.

However, I must see the starting point of preparation. It'll be awhile before I actually 'start' on the assignment part.
What's the best starting point? For SCJP I would of said R & H's book. For SCJD, I don't know.

www.onelist.com has a mailing list called scjd@onelist.com.
go to their home and page and give a search for "scjd". The result will provide you with a link to the registration.
