Hi, I'm an SCJP, and I've just begun my job search. I was wondering what people thought of scjd. I've looked it over and it seems appealing, yet very expensive compared to scjp. Should I take the plunge?

My opinion is that certifications in general do not get jobs. They help get you interviews. You must then pass the interview. Alot also depends on how much paid Java experience you have. If you were previously a VB programmer with no paid Java experience then I would say that the course would be to take all three exams, SCJP, SCJD, and SCEA. If money is the ONLY issue, and you feel you can get enough interviews, then why not at least go through one of the samples in one of the prep books and do it. You would gain the same experience, but save some money. My $.02
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
