Hello,

I know that there is already written a lot about good books but I can never find an honest opinion about the second part in the RHE-book? Is it a good preparation inthere? Is the case good?
I believe there is no other competition when it concerns the Developper-certificate.

Greetings,

There have been alot of things written about the RHE book. Do a search on it.
I have the old blue cover edition. A white covered one is the latest.
I did not use it for SCJD, just SCJP. I used online examples on Sun's site, and Professional Java Server Programming by WROX for the RMI chapter. I also used Deitel's book for Swing.

In my opinion, although Ive read the RHE Developer part, I found that it was not as useful as Sun's Tutorials. Check out :
- The Java Tutorial (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/), for a complete guide on using Swing and RMI.
- You might also want to read Java Look and Feel Design Guidelines (http://java.sun.com/products/jlf/ed1/dg/higtoc.nf.htm).
- If you decide to choose RMI for client-server development, then you should also read Java Remote Method Invocation (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/rmi/index.html) and the RMI Specification (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/rmi/spec/rmiTOC.html).
Hope this helps!!!

P.S.: Books will not make you earn your certificate. You ability to learn these APIs and put it all together will...
