Dear friends, I am new to this forum ,I passed SCJP last tuesday and had scored 91%,and after passing I realised that this is only the begining.To get a decent job which is my sole purpose,the options I have either to directly go for SCEA or do SCJD or any vendor specific SCJD.I am confused which one to go for.If I go for vendor specific developers certificate which one is better?IBM or ORACLE. which of these has max market value? I got lot of help from Java Ranch during my scjp.hoping same from scjd.help me out pls. thnx Sathi

You are only just getting into the field? Take a look at the Architect role description. The Architect needs to have some maturity and experience. If you don't have that experience you are likely to be better off with the SCJD, and taking the web developer exam as soon as it's come out. Having said that, it doesn't hurt to study the SCEA material anyway. It gives you a very useful bird's eye view. - Peter
