How I have to design my seat booking code on the server, and while booking seat the locking should be performed on server, than according to spec. the client should implement all the public methods, than their will be no need to use locl and unlock method on client side. Plz help me out , I am very-2 confused.

The client does NOT need to implement the lock or unlock functions, it calls it on the server.
You need to follow the
lock
read
modify
unlock
calls on the client side.

Steve,
i geuss client should not even call lock.. read.. modify... As locing is not required in LOCAL mode.
and my client is common.
According ot my understanding, we should implement locking mechanism in RemoteServer class, and hide everything from client.
What you say?

Hi steven,
The lock and unlock method is implemented on the server, but we have to call these methods from the client side.
Eg: My Code is:
void booking(record){
lock(int rec. to lock)
read.....
book....
unlock(int rec)
}
Is this the right idea to book seats from the client side.
Regard's
