Hi all..i have a question about RMI and the assignment...in the instructions, Sun says that you can ask the user to specify the DNS name of the server..does that apply to RMI..or can i give any name to the reservation service and bind it to the registry??
Thanks.

Hello Pallav:
I think you can use only following as parameters to start your SERVER.
  • DNS name of the serve
  • Port number used by the server
  • Data files name
  • java.rmi.server.codebase
  • policy files

  • I used data file name to start server. When server is running I used policy file from client to connect server.
    Hope it helps. -Bal
