When using a Logger with only a file handler attached to it
all messages are not only written to that file but also to the System.out.
(I checked : no console handler is added, the only handler attached to the logger is the file handler)
Can this be suppressed (anf how) ? (I am working in JDK 1.4)
Any tip greatly appreciated

Serge, why do you need a Logger in the assignment?

Hi,
I collect all actions and exceptions in a logger.
A log file listens to the logger and writes it in a file. The server Gui listens also to the logger and displays the messages in a text area. The client Gui listens to it and adds it to a text field area.
Besides it is new suff in 1.4 and I wanted to give it a try.

OK. I am unfamiliar with all the nwe 1.4 stuff, haven't downloaded it yet. Sounds cool, but it sounds like it is used as a log, not really as an ActionListener, message sender type thing, but I could be wrong.
Sorry I can't be of any real help
