hi guys, I am going to submit my assignment. and I want to know whether I must make a client.jar file and a server.jar file for the examer to excute my program. and whether the jar must excutable and it could run like this: $java -jar server.jar if so , how should i appoints the -Djava.rmi.server.codebase and -Djava.security.policy properties for server and client? I am writing a README file and require the examer to extract the client.jar(contains all classes for client) and the server.jar(all classes for server) and then input the command in command line, does this way work? help pls.
It is easier to maintain an executable jar, because there is only one file that needs to be replaced when upgrading. They are also easy to create using a manifest file. I believe you gain point in general considerations by using them. Both codebase and policy are allowed command line parameters.
