hi all,
I have a general question related to designing software systems in java . - at what stage of software designing are patterns applied ?? are they introduced intentionally in the design ???

In my code, I use MVC for client GUI, and use Factory for return the DataInterface, so the client needn't to know whether it is local or remote. I don't use the facade because I have set my data in my controller.
I am thinking using the singleton to deal with my RMI server. I just want to figure out it.
