Can I use this class? I see it used all over the Thread section in the Java Tutorial on the java.sun.com site.

Hi,
I do not see any class as SwingWorker. If you mean SwingUtilities then the answer is yes.

I suppose you can use SwingWorker. I can't see anything against it in the assignment. Furthermore, the source code is available so you can change it to meet javadoc requirements and your coding rules.
I'd suggest documenting your decision, though.
