Patter about Patterns

I've been reading about this exam in a lot of books, web sites, etc. In some places they stress knowing about patterns. In others, they say you don't have to know patterns to pass. My quesion is, even though I'm using patterns in my design, am I going to have to know a boatload of pattern terminology and identify patterns I'm not even using to pass the essay portion?

No, you don't really need to know much terminology of Patterns. And whether you learn the patterns or not, you will probably be using them without you really knowing you are.
I do suggest learning the Proxy, Facade, Factory, and MVC patterns.
Now to the Moderating issue.
