I received an email informing me that the developer beta has been extended untill 10/14!!! I don't know about you guys but that's pretty good news to me because 9/30 was a bit soon.

Well, this sure is good news but I uploaded the assignment like 10 minutes before getting the mail. I hope everything will go well... Good luck to the other beta testers
Pardon my ignorance. Could any one tell what kind of a beta test that's is being referred here. I�m currently working on programming assignment now, so just curious to know! Thanks.

Sun is coming up with new versions of their certification exams. The last summer they started the new SCJP exam version 1.4 and now they do the same with SCJD. Prior to lauching a new exam version, they have to test it with beta testers and that's exactly what is going on right now, people are currently working on a beta assignment for the future SCJD 1.4 exam.

Hi Folks, Just a question on the same topic: I am planning to get my developer cert, but rather then dish out the money right away I decided to borrow a copy of the package, required to get your developer, from someone. Once I am close to completion I plan to buy the developer package and submit as one normally does. My only purpose is not to be so long without the cash. My question: is the developer assignment to change soon? meaning I might work with an old package and when the time comes to buy the kit for my developer I will get a different set of requirements? Sharing any knowledge on this topic will be appreciated. Thanks

Oops. I just got my acception to upload today. but it's effective Oct, 1. I hope I could finish working before then.
A clarification needed. Registration for the follow up essay exam should start when? Just after uploading the assignment or before uploading? In our extended beta time, should it be from 15th Oct?
