Hi reader, What should I document for a instance or static variable decalred something like this: private HashMap data; or private String value; Secondly, my project runs very well on my machine. But yesterday I tested the same program on my friends machine. What happened Server program started without any problem but when I started client program by supplying localhost parameter then it give me exception which said "Server is down". This is RemoteException which I had caught on client side. I had also made the setting with TCP/IP settings with localhost and restarted machine but still it produced no results. What can be the problem ?. Thank you,
Hi! About the documentation, speaking in general, in my app I have documented all the member (private, public, default and protected - constructors, fields and methods). Anyway, sometime, when the role of the specified member(a private field or a private methods) is clear and obvious, i don't document it. Hope it helps.
hi, I am also in agreement with Andrea that is to document everything in ur java class that is even private members.Specs are silent about it,but it doesnt hurt to document them all the same. VikasSood
Actually looking back at my submission, I did not document instance variables. I got perfect on the documentation so I doubt that it is necessary for those private variables. But you can if you want, it won't harm you. Mark
