IDE for designing GUI

Is it ok to use an IDE to build the GUI (of course without using third party beans)?

Yes, that's perfectly acceptable. You just have to make sure to respect the specified requirement:
You may develop using an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) but your final product may not have any residual dependency upon that.

In particular, make sure that your application still runs when on a computer without your IDE

I don't like very much any RAD when developing my IDE, because it's too simple to build an "anti-MVC"...

Why would you want to use a (excellent) IDE only for GUI development?

Can I ask the question in another way: has anybody used an IDE to build the GUI of the assignment and passed with a good grade?
