I wouldn't overestimate the certification. As an employer, my first employment criterium would be experience, not certificates. But when you're looking for the job, a certification always looks better than none. Good luck!
Certifications indicate that you have focus on some areas if not expertise. But experience is the ultimate proof any employer may bet on which. My focus was that certifications will give me recognition not job and will provide me comparative advantage in improvement of my state in current job. There are thousands certified IT professionals in the market unemployed now as well as thousands certified IT professionals with good jobs. So it helps but it does not give any sort of guarantee. I would have rated SCEA more than the other three (SCJP,SCWCD,SCJD). BTW, I think this is not the right forum to talk about it. Why not in Java Jobs forum...?
