Dumb GUI question

Ok, I admit it-
I can't figure out how to gray out a TextField and a button using Swing. I don't want to use setVisible or enable/diable. Help??

Never mind, it works. I didn't like SetEnabled because it wasn't changing the background color but then i realized I could set it myself to Color.gray. See, I did say it was a dumb question.
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
