Several months ago there was a post questioning the value of certification in the job market. Since then I have been through a job search which resulted in three offers and a couple of near misses. I'd like to let you folks know that, in my opinion, all of these offers and near-offers came in large part, due to my developer certification. What I found, though, was that it's important to educate your potential employer as to the significant difference between the the Developer and Programmer Certifications - only one of the five I had success with were really aware of the radically different scope. Anyway, if you're working on your developer project, stick with it - my experience is that it has value in the job market (in addition to the undeniable value as a learning experience).
