why do we need RemoteInterface?

Hello All,
I wanted to know why do we need RemoteInterface. The following also could be a way of doing it.
DataInterface has all the methods of Data
RemoteData ( class) implements DataInterface, Remote ( also here RemoteData can throw remoteException) and extends UnicastRemoteObject.
LocalData (class) implements DataInterface
I think that this would work rather than adding RemoteInterface which extends DataInterface and Remote Interface.
Please comment, I may be wrong on this.
Thanks
Amish

I personally only had a DataInterface, but there is no right or wrong answer, only what you can justify.
