jar -cvfm sempleproject.jar Manifest.MF -C classes .
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Main-Class: sampleproject.gui.Application

the only information that generate in meta-inf/ is below( after i unzip it )

Here is my jar command that I used.
jar -cvfm server.jar c:\devexam\manifest\server\ suncertify\db\*.class suncertify\server\*.class suncertify\help\*.class

Now it is possible in what happened to yours was that you didn't specify the path to where the file is that you created.
So instead it created its own, which was wrong.
You also had a -C before the classes. What is this for?
Hope that helps.
